Every dog and every family is unique. My 1-2-1 consultations are designed to give you the time, space, and expert support to really understand your dog and the challenges you’re facing together.

What to expectIn-depth assessment – I’ll take time to get to know your dog, their history, environment, and daily life, so we can uncover why certain behaviours are happening.Tailored guidance – Together we’ll create a clear, practical plan to support your dog, reduce stress, and encourage positive behaviour changes.Family-friendly approach – Everyone in the household can be involved, helping to build confidence and consistency so your dog feels supported by the whole family.Positive, reward-based methods – Training should feel good for both you and your dog. I use kind, effective techniques to strengthen trust and create lasting results.Behaviour work isn’t about quick fixes — it’s about understanding the whole picture and supporting both dogs and humans.

The Importance of Health Checks

When dogs show signs of reactivity, aggression, or sudden changes in behaviour, it’s essential to rule out underlying pain or medical issues first. This means booking a specific veterinary appointment to discuss possible pain or discomfort — not just relying on a routine vaccination check-up. Many behavioural challenges can be linked to pain, and addressing this early ensures that training is safe, fair, and truly effective.

Trainer or Clinical Behaviourist?

As a dog trainer, I help you understand why your dog behaves the way they do and give you practical, positive tools to support them. I work on everyday training like recall, loose lead walking, and teaching cues, and I specialise in supporting dogs with anxiety, reactivity, destructive behaviours, resource guarding, and confidence issues. My approach is always kind, supportive, and based on positive reinforcement.A clinical behaviourist is a veterinary professional who works with more complex cases, often involving medical factors like severe phobias, aggression, or compulsive behaviours. If I feel your dog would benefit from extra support, I’ll let you know and can work alongside other professionals to make sure you and your dog get the best possible help.

Client Reviews

"Julia has been supporting us to settle in our new rescue pup and I can’t recommend her highly enough.
She’s tremendously knowledgeable, practical and passionate about her work.
For anyone that has rescued, you’ll know it’s a rewarding journey but it’s far from straightforward. Julia has worked with us every step of the way and the progress we are making is incredible.
We’re so looking forward to continuing our training with Julia. If you’re considering a dog trainer, I’d hire her now "

"We had a great 1-2-1 session in our home with Julia, she was very knowledgeable and gave a great approach to learning different ways to deal with some of the problems we were having with our young dog.
Although in the early stages the information given has been easy to put in place and we are starting to deep the rewards.
Would highly recommend"
